Leadership Presence for Women

Communication skills are vital to effectively navigating the business landscape, owning your seat at the table, and learning how to show up as confident and capable. It’s even more critical for women as they navigate career progression and influence both internally and externally. This full-day workshop focuses on the key challenges women face in demonstrating effective leadership presence in all aspects of communication, as well as how they can capitalize on their unique strengths to speak up and stand out to win leadership roles. In addition, this program will include only women as facilitators and fellow participants, giving everyone in the room the chance to share and learn from each other.

Leadership Presence for Women is one of our core programs, designed for bothindividual and group learning experiences.

In this course, you’ll learn how to:

  • Those with leadership presence are intentional. Plan and create the most effective experience for your audience: Inform, Entertain, Direct, Inspire.
  • Key Challenge: Balancing taking care and taking charge behaviors (addressing the double bind) with discussion around participant experiences.
  • Shift your own habits and build “Behaviors of Trust” for demonstrating warmth + competence in any communication situation.
  • Key Challenge: Getting to the point quickly and providing the right level of supporting detail.
  • Be Brief. Be Bright. Be Gone. Use the Decker Grid framework to move any message from information to influence.
  • Key Challenge: Speaking up and handling conversation dynamics effectively.
  • Speak up and stand out – the roadblocks to taking your seat at the table and learn the Do’s and Don’ts of effective conversations.
  • Learn how to interrupt and handle being interrupted.
  • Answer tough questions on the spot.
  • Read the room and develop situational readiness.
  • Deploy balanced conversations to drive action but also allow discovery.
  • Respond in a way that moves things forward.
  • Apply the tools you’ve gained to your own specific communication situations.
  • Recorded on video: up to 4 recordings.
  • One private 1:1 coaching session during the day.

The 1:1 coaching was more conversational than I expected. I thought it was going to be more of me presenting my notes. The conversation was great!
The program has challenged me. I appreciate the opportunity to address the gender bias head-on and look at specific ways for me to address those most relevant to me.
