I have been teaching public speaking to MBAs for the last 5 years and have a format where the first piece of feedback must be "something that you saw the speaker do well and would like to integrate into your own speaking" - after bearing your soul to a group, you need a bit of comforting before you are strong enough to get the learning. However, if somebody clearly has not practiced and has come unprepared, I am brutal. Thanks for the tips.
